BCS Future Ready Introductory Video - July 20, 2021 - Bradley County Schools’ Future Ready program is designed to support students and learning by providing one device for each student in the district. The plan focuses on iPads for Kindergarten and 1st Grade students and Chromebooks for grades 2-12.

Hi, I’m Scott Webb, Bradley County Schools’ Director of Technology, and I’m proud to announce Bradley County Schools’ Future Ready 1:1 initiative.

Bradley County Schools’ Future Ready program is designed to support students and learning by providing one device for each student in the district. The plan focuses on iPads for Kindergarten and 1st Grade students and Chromebooks for grades 2-12.

The Goals for the Future Ready Program are to:
Shift curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices towards meaningful and relevant learning experiences.
To Increase student achievement through a variety of authentic measures.
To increase communication between students, teachers, parents, and the community.
To Foster 21st Century Skills to prepare our students for their future including skills like:
Creativity
Collaboration
Communication
Critical Thinking
Digital Citizenship
To increase opportunities for individualized and personalized learning for every student.
And To provide Digital equity in access, device, and platform across the district.

Bradley County Schools is committed to provide the highest quality of education for our students and the Future Ready Program is a key component to that achieving goal.

To get our students and parents Future Ready, Bradley County Schools’ Technology Department has created the Future Ready Website. The website has tons of information about the Future Ready program including links to forms, FAQs, Student Device Troubleshooting guides, videos, and more. To visit the Future Ready website, go to bradleyschools.org and click the link on the front page.

In a video later this week, I will detail the Student Acceptable Use Policy and Device Contract that all students will be required to sign this year. We will also cover the District’s Insurance Charge.

Schools will be releasing their plan for distribution of devices. Each school is a little bit different, so please reach out to your school or check the school’s website or social media page to determine how and when device distribution will take place. Please note that BOTH the Acceptable Use Policy and Student Device contract are required BEFORE students can be assigned a device.
