Website Tutorial #2 - Creating Personal Pages - Here's a quick tutorial on how to add pages to your personal section of the website. Personal Pages are available to all district staff but will be especially beneficial for teachers and administrators. You can add as many pages to your personal section as you want.

Hi I'm Scott Webb Instructional Technology Coordinator. this is the second in a series of videos on our new edlio website today will learn how to add information to your personal section of the website staff had the ability to add content and information to a personal section of the website this will be especially useful for our teachers and communicate with parents and students and so on so just to give you a quick look at what one of what sections look like here on the district site to get to the personal sections of the website games like the teacher section the staff section is actually in the staff directory so if you click on staff directory you'll see a listing of all the employees of that particular school or in this case to the district office to buy scroll all the way down here to my section you'll see that my name is hyperlink so I can go in there when I click that it will actually take section of the website so you'll see section I've got this welcome to technology page created that's my profile picture that you could actually watch the other video to see how to upload your profile picture and send an email phone number you can subscribe to that website will talk a little bit more about that especially one the later videos on email sender but you can collect information and collect email addresses and things like that from parents and stew directly from the web page then these are listings list of the pages that are available on my website if I clicked on Google resource you'll see it takes me to a page that I put some additional Links at this is a practice page it just has a awesome information on it PDF file Soma show you how to create your own section we're going to do that today I'm going to do that through the Virtual School site so go to your schools homepage let the very bottom you'll see this footer is actually on all pages on the website but you will click in login this we've had some confusion of what this logs into it's not a link to Gmail or anything like that it is just a link to login to create content on the website everybody has the ability to log into the website through our Bradley County School Google account so your year you should already have an account built into your site so you can all you'll simply do is Click sign in with Google you're not signing it may prompt you to sign in with your Google user Bradley County Schools Google Account dashboard on the dashboard this is how you navigate to sections of the website what you have access to will be determined by your principal or webmaster so when I click on pages if I have the ability to edit certain sections of the web they will show up here this is the content the main content of the website this personal section is where you create personal Pages now if you don't have access to anything else it will automatically come this particular pay this is just the jumping-off point what we've got to do now is we're going to create pages and I have several options on pages to create types of pages I can create I can create a page I can create a link to another page on this website or any website I can add a video section photo library calendar of our calendar or links these are feature pages that are created by and Leo were you just plugging information and the pages created for you so we'll talk a little bit more will look at one or two of those and in just a second let's just create a blank page to start off with so we're going to create a blank page the first thing I have to do is give this page of title so I'm just going to call this test page it should be published you can save at any point in time and that's what's available here so if I want to save that the side panels we are going to make sure that all of our websites are right align all the pages that have been created throughout the district are right align and we'd like to keep that format consisted not show you what that means that just gives you the section menu hear that if you if you click full view the section menu goes away but we want all our  men you just be on the right hand side it's really pretty simple. you can add a textbox okay and it works like any other standard textbox that you've seen a test page or Scott web web web I can go in here if I want to italicize something if I wanted to you know change the text color add a link at a picture insert a table change the font size I can do all of that just like I would in any other text editor so real simple to use I want to create a gallery or add photos to that I can click on upload and he's going to give me a list of available so I can upload directly from my computer Dropbox Google drive or my OneDrive or if I just want to drag and drop items so let's say here's up a piano creators of our new District also if I just wanted to create that I can show that we have our Ada settings are these websites replace at these websites are ADA Compliant and what that means is that they have to be acceptable for all for everyone and some people have to use screen reader so in order for me to insert a text or a picture it's going to say hey the salt text is missing all text just give screen readers the ability to read what the picture is so in this case I may just type in District gold cuz that's what the actual picture is so that will make it visible if you have not added all text to the picture it will not show up on the website so those are pictures so I can add more than one picture if I wanted to and I could change the way I can have him stack I can have him rotating that just gives me a couple way to this place that picture I can also add files so for example if I want to add a pedia again I can go the whole process of going to my computer going to Google Drive or I can just drag and drop so like these are the back to school events for the school system I'll drag and drop those in there and anytime I see. like this it means there's something extra that can happen six dots means that this is what I mean by that is if I wanted to move this section up above the next I could if I wanted to lower this section and drop it if I want to move it up and move the picture up I can move the text down anytime I see six. That's what that what that means three dots are are some extra settings on this particular case settings that are available for the PDF file PDF sir are unique because you can rename them and you can display them so if I wanted this particular PDF to be displayed on the page that will automatically create a little window for me to to view that I can also print it and download it from that so I'm going to go ahead and save this picture this subpage and I'm going to go back out I'm going to add one more new page what side of feature page so we'll go to Scott back to the beginning so again 6. So if I had another page here let's just add another quick page listen to a blank page will call it test we won't add any content to the main section and you'll see now I have two pages and their movable so I can I can drag and drop these around and move these around feature page and links maybe you can create your own calendar you can do a photo album can upload videos you can actually embed YouTube videos or any video from the from the internet just by copying and pasting the in bed Pacific video on adding videos at a later date let's just do a lynx real quick let's do a Winx and I think this is one of those that is pretty handy so if you want to create a link to something specific so in this case I'm going to do a link in wall call Bradley County Schools K the URL www.org we wanted to test that I could test it it'll pop it going to the right by Ryan description to Bradley County Schools so when I get all my links together I clicked save and that takes me to the back to the to the to the manage link so if I wanted to add to leave I can do that I could add some categories and some things like that I go back to my pages I'll notice that although I just created the link in automatically created The Links Page for me so I've got to link imma make sure it's published then you can tell it's probably spider it doesn't have that little stop sign that means it's not published created three pages of my personal space so if I go to The Bradley County Virtual School website on navigate to the directory so if I know if I navigate to the staff tractor again and I scroll down to Scott Webb and I click on that it's going to open the first page on the list so it's going to open this test page so now here's my side menu so that's why it was important when I at the type of page that we kept that page right align because that gives me this additional section menu the show off the links that I have available blank pages is is test page to create a link page for me so here's here's the link and and the description that goes with that so I can have as many different links I can categorize these maybe if I wanted to have website links educational links fun links game links whatever I wanted to lick I can create my own categories and populate those as well so that's a real quick look test pages and how you can create your own or how do you can create your own personal pages on the website you have any questions or comment please feel free to reach out to me and Scott Webb or s w e b b  at Bradley schools.org we're going to try to post videos every every few days new videos new techniques and tips on how to better manage your use of the website I think it's got a lot of great benefits and I think you'll really enjoy using much simpler to use over over things that we've done in the past questions reach out to me thanks and have a great day
