Health Education

Bradley County Schools offers health education to all students K-12.  Elementary school students are provided health education through lessons provided to them by their physical education teacher, the child nutrition staff, and the school nurse. Middle school students receive health education through their physical education classes. Schedules at the middle schools will be different based on the scheduling of each school. High school students receive health education in the Lifetime Wellness class that is mandated by the state of TN. Students may choose to take other classes pertaining to health education throughout their high school career but it is not required.

Tennessee's Health Education Standards can be used to support the effective implementation of comprehensive health education as one of the components of Coordinated School Health.

High School Lifetime Wellness Standards

Lifetime Wellness is a holistic approach to health and lifetime physical activities in Tennessee high schools. This approach to total wellness encompasses the physical, mental, social, and personal needs of the individual.
