Welcome to the BCS Tech podcast my name is Scott Webb I am the instructional technology coordinator for Bradley County Schools thanks for joining us here on our podcast our initial pot first initial podcast that will be doing and I'm going to take a look at a lot of different things we're not going to look just at technology and education we're going to look at a variety of topics and I'm happy to have with us tonight as we look at some leadership items as we have the former principal of Valley View Elementary and new Ocoee Middle School principal Mr. Corey Limburg. Corey how are you tonight.W I'm doing great. Thanks for having me thanks for your big shoes to fill down there to Ocoee Middle School didn't you? yeah I really really did blessing to take over Ron Spangler who I really just did some phenomenal things with the kids and the students are at Ocoee middle school so it's it's been a blessing for sure like here in a couple weeks and get his first Devon things now that he's retired and out there on the golf course he should have plenty of time to to come up with some with some some some cool stories and we will look forward to talk into the Ron and Corey is one of my favorite people not only because does an incredible job but he is the only person I know that it's ever step foot on Pebble Beach so that's a that's a that's a big deal buddy I appreciate you I was blessed to to play there one time I wish and I wish it wasn't quite as the cost prohibitive supposed to be home now but it says beautiful pictures I would have been worried about the golf I just would have been my first experience at and at Augusta when I walked out there I was just so nervous I couldn't do anything but just grin but but Corey does Corey honestly and Corey does a terrific job I was very impressed with in my new role I've been in an industry all about 15 months I was impressed with what was taking place at at at Valley View and what he was able to do there and then Corey looks like you you taking a lot of that that kind of philosophy that you had at Valley View it in and brought it to well I hope so I mean you know people really don't change find that you know students or students they all have the same heart inside of them and passionate teachers are great we have Mecosta County and it's been a blessing for sure but if it's a learning process at the same time but yeah hopefully we can you know I'll be able to kind of take my style and and be able to at the help of Coy Middle you know you don't capitalize on already great things that are going on out there and talking about your style yet tonight's podcast I guess we're focusing on on leadership you know how would you describe your leadership style I would probably it if I if I were to describe my leadership style have to say probably leave the collaborative nature you know I'm I'm a firm believer in finding the positive thing about every person every student or building I feel like no Eva collaborative leader I'm always looking for the team as a whole to you notice it the educational needs of the kids and so you know play a game today but really I'll try to get the value the positives of every single person the building and you and I have our fault every teacher has her fault but what I try to do as a leadership style it to capitalize on the teacher strengths and really not necessarily me catalog on but put them in a position where they can be successful and really just act as a as a support system you know for them and so I will take collaborative because I really don't I don't make a lot of autonomous decisions and that's what I think it's important that we find friends in NM put people in a place where they can have success yeah. That's been that's been an important part I think you know it just mine not number two years that I've been administrator I think that's been an advantage to the teachers that we can see I know strength and not necessarily spend a ton of time talking about what they're not good at that really just taking those those teachers who are who have you know strengths and talents and Technology on teaching a certain subject or the way communicate with kids and making sure that they're going to subject and grade level where they can capitalize on those so that's probably how I would describe my style or going to hit when I hit some heavy topics here I know obviously No Child Left Behind really kind of changed the landscape in education you know did you think it it it hurt education or just going to give me your your take on how that is going to change the dynamic and education I think I think No Child Left Behind did some some positive things for us and education also think it had some negative consequences and I think that deposits are deposited positive Things That No Child Left Behind did was it did put an increase in Festus on Tuesday de I think it brought helped bring an intense Focus to teacher training teacher education programs we took I think it put a seriousness and a business side to the teaching profession that we do need a little bit of you know I feel like it's important that we make sure that we take the business Student Success academic way we take that very seriously and so I think it did bring that I think it brought about some training opportunities for teachers I think about it I think that's about the time to micro credentials for really born or Raiders and so there are some things from you know whether those were intended consequences or not I think those have been some positive things that come out of No Child Left Behind I do think it's her in a few ways to wear it could a lot teacher accountability it put a heavy load of that on student outcomes and so there are things that teachers can and cannot control and it seem like some of the legislation that laying down with No Child Left Behind really didn't take into account different subgroups of students right and the challenges that come with socioeconomically challenge students you know students in poverty or students Heart concert backgrounds and it didn't it seems like to me that it didn't take into account a lot of those things and I feel like the deposit is tired of the business out of school will it also brings negative sides where we started looking we started seeing teachers losing jobs we started seeing teacher shortages we started seeing schools being shut down and in so there were some negative consequences to the fact that the afraid to teach that people saw teaching more as a business and not as a relationship strategy in so I do think I do think it helped and hurt and I know that's a very politically correct answer ride the fence there buddy it's really where I am good I do see positive negative I do think it's hurt in the long run I think the positives come out of it as well thank a lot of people look at it from that perspective that because it did change the way you no evaluations and things like that too and it's great that we are able now to give more I think at least for me and this is going back a couple years when I was getting evaluated as a teacher that the feedback the amount of the mentoring side of what a principal teacher that role should be I think that kind of has one of been one of the the things that have kind of spawned out of that legislation is that there's it it feels more meaning call now to me the evaluation process than it ever has I do think it and in that sense it's a given us a platform it given us a platform to have an open conversation about our teaching practices it's I think it's spurred the opening of classroom doors per say where you know teachers are collaborating they saw the need to get out of the shell to a degree and then collaborate and so I think that was a positive things that came out of it for sure what are some of the things that are going on education at that really gets you excited right now what are what are you saying in the circles I guess that that I run in in in Broward County Schools where you know where you and I are having this is our life and so the things that I see alright 19 intense focus on relationships I think right now we are doing a fabulous job of balancing student data teacher evaluation data and balancing that with listen and we've got to engage kids and meaningful relationships and give them give hope outside of the home to let somebody else to let somebody else invest in that child you know there's research out there I read recently yeah really kids kids Val for the opinion of a classroom teacher than they do their parents you know in in in to me it just shows the importance of a teacher I'm really excited about the intense focus on relationships in building. meaningful ties with the kids so that's probably the most exciting thing I think I II probably most exciting thing you know I'm saying this because of your some technology talk but go right ahead really exciting no for me from a technology standpoint I would not call myself a technology Guru you know how I like to I like to mess around with it and I'm kind of ankle the and lots of different pieces of Technology I love the move to collaborative classrooms using social media using networks to be able to collaborate student-to-student student-to-teacher I mean practical things like a classroom simple things like the Google Calendar has transformed our administrative team in the way we communicate at Ocoee Middle School simple things like that I love the movement I think it makes it I think it makes two more efficient I think it will save money in the long run and obviously sustaining technology you know is different than sustaining paper goods and hard hardback textbooks and so you know really excited about the movement toward take how do you soak a two things I really thought about books on relationships and then the really efficient use of technology in the classroom to do a fabulous job I know last year you did a a little newsletter to various people of your community so you're using technology to boost that relationship piece yeah that's that's really you know if you have a skinny teacher what they want from and it would from the administrator I would guess in this would be an interesting guest thing to serve it if you just ask them what do you need from your ministrator won the first thing is going to be communication out of your mouth say they want that you and I wanted that from my previous principals people want that and it so it just makes it so easy to communicate you know I ain't got to come in the mail I'm talking something out on the typewriter it's as simple as changing the Google Doc and you just share it with them and I can access it anytime yeah that's it definitely made it definitely made a difference in our building that's a great that's a great answer by the way terrific great job I will send you the I'll send you the little take you out the law for that one look at this one for a second and how how has discipline can a changed over the last several years and in and what do you see is is kind of the one of our biggest challenges discipline in the classroom for educators I think I don't know when when this kind of turned what I have seen just in my time as a teacher and administrator you know what I have seen is a change in the way we approach discipline not necessarily the I mean we are at you look at restorative practices you look at suspension alternative in alternative to two different types of punishment corporate punishment whatever we're looking at their our way to address to those without alienating students and I think way what has happened in the past several years is a push from teachers and administrators to really take into account every child Tori and I still think that starts with a relationship with the child because everybody is different every student different they're getting handled differently at home and so for example suspending suspended he's going to go home with both parents working first shift job and has no food in the house to spending that child what it what are we teaching that and how is that remediating the behavior really I've seen I've seen of a phone I seen a focus on student-centered discipline to wear not only do they understand there's a negative consequences to their actions but whatever consequences given we have to make sure it's aimed at changing that behave and then ultimately most of the things that we punish students for that's a result of something else going on and try to find that out don't you. do I mean it it's dark you know we we talk about us a couple things you know in the inter-school and we always come back to know the student you'll meet them where they are and then and then you teach like a no no you first thing those kids you got to know the story got to know more about them in the first and last name is it her parents are you going to know what makes you tick you know and that's what makes that that's after hours part of the teacher's job when you when you're in the daily Drive the teaching you got to be willing to invest in one of those child what what are the passion for that kid you know they've been talking animals today like baseball I didn't have brothers and sisters how did the brother and sisters trade them you know what they're at they been adopted are they in are they in a split home like how are they be treated and so I've seen and I've been very encouraged at the middle school and and or not, Valley View on the amount it's going to disappoint I just feel like I remember you know the discipline plans when I was back in school you know and then going back to the Marvin Kirkpatrick Day 2 at Waterville and I got a warning you know you got to call home and then no matter what you were doing you know I was going up to the principal's office to get paddling and you know that that didn't really take him to the number one it didn't make me stop the number to you know cleaning on my home situation that might not have been the best choice for me so right and I've been encouraged to see the change and Justin practice really resulting from a relationship with the kid no that's that's that's great stuff because it's important that we that we enter what's going on to Kenny get the whole picture what's happening with that child and it is if we're not doing that then we're not doing our jobs this something you touched on a little bit earlier and we talked a little bit about the perfect but how is professionalism in in NT kind of changed and I know we got into that a little bit with the teacher training and stuff when we were talking about No Child Left Behind but just talking for a minute about professionalism of teachers in and I guess I mean you can save it and look at the guy have Fuller T N Roses or or whatever but what I see and in Titan but I know where you're going here I mean I just I see an intense I'm coming for the teachers I see willingness to dig in and go after professional development and their willingness to I haven't asked. Cash essential office about this but I feel like there is more pressure on teachers now to speak Advanced degrees to go after things like microcredentials or additional certifications not necessarily for the money I mean that's that's the thing in my credential you're probably not going to get paid for that lady teacher just do it because they want to be better and so the the professionalism and think that I'm thing yeah yeah you get complicated with her teacher code of ethics and the things we see social media and to think that they just have made it difficult and created a lot of Grey area but what I see in the play some Sade is it teachers aren't sitting back and waiting on me to come tell them what they need to work on you know when when I talk to teachers and we talk about hey what are your strengths what are you working on what do we need to work on how do you want to be better you all of the I have an answer and all of them will say yeah I really need to work on my student gagement or I really need to work on you know my Airtime in the classroom I really need to work on integrated technology or whatever that is in the cool thing that I'm saying is because teacher love their job and I love the kids they're willing to get after it they are and so there's almost an expectation to listen if you want to be a level 5 teacher if you want to be that teacher that the kid remembers then you got to be on your game until I see that in our teachers and even veteran teachers have been in it for a long time I feel like they're just a constant hunger you know I love it I love seeing that scene teacher get fired up are professional and going after what you know how they want to be better so I'll testing positive changes I'll tell you this I think one of the most rewarding things that that I saw in my year plus that I that I've been in this role weigh 270 pictures that are at our technology Summit this summer and 70 teachers took a a day one of the first few days that we are out for summer break to spend all day with us learning about technology and in sharing and exchanging I yes with one another man that just shows me that these people are that they care and they they want to succeed and they want to be able to put their students in the best possible position and it starts with them bettering themselves yeah it really does I've been I've been really impressed with that as well this is this a question and you can kind of talk about either school you know if I leave your or all I'm asking, but how do you feel the morale of the school set buy you the administration the administration team where the hoes who sets the tone for the schooling and how do you kind of developed at General the the principal yeah but the principal gets a good or a bad rap and ultimately leads to much of the blame that's right you know I feel like really the culture of the building is sent by the teachers now I'm not trying to delene the role of the principal and it's not that I don't see my role as important than my role is only important gnarled only important if I have relations took my teachers and so I feel like as an administrator I do set the tone for the culture by being positive by being upbeat by having a vision and goals going after those things and not not sure on the way from difficult conversations but really my job as I as I see it is to take care of kids by taking care of teachers and then so you know not my job is to get to support them to let them know they I'm open to listening to them that I want their feedback and then I think they're the smartest most Innovative people on the planet and if I if I can make them feel safe and loved and important then those teachers man are going to go out and model that same exact thing in their classroom because the teachers know that their jobs not a danger if they know that I've got their back if they know that I care about them as a person and not just as a numb we're just at the just at the seventh grade math teacher or whatever that is if they know how much I truly care about them and then I'm really willing to listen to him and then I really think they're Rockstar that's going to be a better teacher until I think focusing on the positive finding positive things in our day to celebrate all the time it yummy you don't acknowledge the things that I think just constantly living in I've been in a relationship Focus building now I really think that that's the culture in so teachers to me your your cultures built on how you how you treat your teachers how I treat them is how they're going to feel I think it's going to take how I feel about their job and ultimately how effective they are instructional practice so yeah I do think it's it's set to a degree but but if I do it you know that I know that I don't know if that makes sense or not that's my job is to support them get out of the way be what they need me to be the same time to say no I couldn't you couldn't have some that any better I think and I think as a teacher that's the kind of person I want leading the charge of somebody that's a that's willing to listen that'll that'll help me in this when I need help will support me when I need the support and will praise me when I've done a good job and what Anna and the flip side of that is Will chastise me when it's time to pick up my game and I yeah and I think that those are all parts of creating a positive environment and I and II you do a great job of it. Thank you, answer this question very carefully cuz you're talking to a central office staff member here but what part do you fill the central office plays in search students with within the school system in and within your school complicated I mean to me you know your role as a central office supervisor it's your phone. I feel like your job is to model the way we want teachers treat students by the way you treat up in the way you treat the principles and the teachers I do feel like you know anything about what we're doing right now is the district has very clear goals and objectives and so when when those are out there when those are out there and then it's our job is school to line I'll go and strategies and initiatives up do those goals and standards when we when that happens that model consistency in the expectations of the central office I believe that the central office can make or break a culture buy micro managing or by you know by either micromanaging or being too loose handed on letting us do whatever we want at the school level I do think the culture start every every school culture starts at the very top you know you see doctor cash you see doctor can she see her focus on the relationship you see her focus on intense intense teaching practices in the classroom and so once we know what her goals are during what she sees happening and that she developed those along with the team of you guys up there at the central office when you got what you got to put those out there we know that they're in the right spirit and we know what they're intended to do okay thank you for us to get on board until I think the best thing that you guys do for us to just be a resource you all doing amazing job sites like technology department I mean your coaches in town we need if they're there to help and be a resource if not they're pushing stuff on us but if we know we're moving to Google classroom for their support for that and if we know we're trying to get to the 90% reading go to no end in sight well there's support for that because they've invested in a rigorous curriculum they've invested in the train to make it happen and so to me that just shows how these are not understand it or unsupported mandates we can do it get there the cane and so I think that sets of collaborative environment from the very top so that's how I was one of the things you know we've seen and this is not a critique on anybody seen in any and I'm not talking just about our ministration but we've seen Ebbs and flow of of what the district goals are but to be very concise and that's one thing I will call dr. Cash for yeah middle of last year into the central office in the end the goals were stated well when we when we talked about what we are going to do to our goals this year would like would that accomplish these goals there's no reason to make we're going to tweak and and make some adjustments but it it's being consistent in these are goals and I don't like to see is it as a teacher or parent or anybody AAA fluctuation and what's going on I want consistent goals let's achieve those and then we'll set the next bar well I in Korea and end this what what kind of your multi-part question here you know what has been your most challenging and we'll we'll just kind of rattle off some things some legal issues what are some of the things that from ethical for that concern you and then financially what are some things in areas that concern you in education I've been very blessed I guess to not be involved in any legal battles you know and in education career which is which is great and knock on wood and all that stuff I've been very blessed in that regard that I had some of the legal issues that we deal with that it's cool really on a daily basis are pictures of liability one of the one of the things that I have seen an increase is cooking school practice is in keeping students safe and monitored all the time you know in a in a school Michael Cawley middle school with was almost 12 you know 1250 students in the building you know in a hundred and twenty something staff members when you got that many people in the square footage in our footprint you know it's important to keep eyes on kids all the time so the liability that that lies on a school right now as a serious legal issue that I think I still think in general General and I'm not talking about just that we kind of think schools in general I still say we walk in a lot of Grey area and in the way we monitor kids whether it's on playground in the cafeteria and hallways before after school and I think those are things we need to be very careful and call Jessica Lee yeah that's how big is legal things in the whole religion in school thing right has been a Hot Topic legally and in living where we do and we're very blessed to have great church Partners in a lot of great churches in our community but the religion in schools thing has been a obviously Hot Topic legal issue and so we have to be very careful of of how those things are presented you know in our schools and how are teachers and school representative know how we talk about religion and how we talk about our personal faith or whatever that is so those are things that we constantly battling legally I think that's actually one of the biggest things and I and I think that the one downsizing comes to technology is that no social media really makes us available all the time and so ethically not just for teachers but a thing for teachers and students it's just not a whole lot out there that's totally private and you right and so you know that the new teacher code of code of ethics you know how long very specifically that you're really a teacher all the time and so basically you know we we can different beliefs or whatever that is but we are held to start instead of standards as a teacher so you know ethically you know that's one of the biggest things you know that that concerns me you know teacher Behavior Behavior outside of the school and how they represent us and that's not specific to my school that specific that stuff and I'll tell you the technology director that's one of the things you know I've got a team to put together some stuff and it from a digital session standpoint I don't know that we do a great job in schools talking about the ramifications of some of that stuff and that's something I hope to the Cs improve upon over the course of the next few years yeah Indian Indian obviously you you know you hit on the ethical South to financially I think you know what the greatest Financial issues that I see you know that the move to technology the ability to support it to stain it in the future I think we have to be very proactive with our County Commission and and I know another you know however funding happened another school district just talked about Downy people but it however that the school districts are funded I think we have to be very proactive in letting our legislators know the importance of funding for technology in the classroom and so get out a Chromebook a Chromebook you know it 250 or 260 or $270 whatever those whatever those cost a Chromebook for a classroom yeah that's a that's a big investment you know and so once we start talking about play 2002 those or whether it's a Promethean board or a smart board or a smart projector whatever the pieces of Technology we have in the in the room financially we don't have enough in our school budget to make that happen conversation that you and I have all the time I was just getting ready to get up and shout out there so if you hear somebody praising something I guess that's I mean that's that's my call you know we have we have we have not done and I'll say it and I'll be blunt we've not done a great job in and preparing for the future and in finding a way to financially fun the things we want need and want to do and it think sometimes especially with devices and things like that week we kind of think of them all we bought this that's a fixed asset it's not a building it's not a it's something that is it's a consumable it's something that's where we're going to have to make plans for that being refreshed or whatever you want to call it in the down the road and I don't think we've done a great job with that and that's one of the battles that I'm I'm fighting it's my by Far and Away my biggest financial concern yeah at the end and I guess the other Financial pay to just go little bit even bigger than that are buildings you know and in the school I see the importance in and I mean I'm a big sports fan to an end I know you're a big Sports guy so you know there's something about team. Avenues Stadium or teams that that have a facility that they take pride in and I feel like we do a great job in Valley County of maintaining the buildings that we have but I think thinking forward Oh and before I retire out of the system or or I'm forced down you know it'll whatever that whatever whatever that looks like in the future before before I'm gone and out of here you know where we're going to need to invest in some buildings gal system in so I think it's a it's a consistent conversation about the importance of investing in schools because our kids not only deserve top-notch teachers in the classroom that's really where the rub the road right but they also deserve environment to where they feel safe and comfortable and not you know what I'm worried about the environment that they're in that's where that's a stable thing and it's not just a Bradley County you know Nationwide you know we have to look to invest in capital that's going to pay off years down the road and I see High-Tech high efficiency building being the future of know what's going to happen with our students in the future and where I want my kids to go to school so you don't think that's the important as well financially that was great that was absolutely perfect spot on I mean I think we were very similar and we've we talked about this in the past it's we're very similar and what are our needs is going to be and we have to start working on developing a plan to push that forward to to put ourselves and put our kid in our students in the best situation to have the most success and we have to start talking about some of those things technology buildings and things like that if we're going to be able to the really kind of maximize where we're going until you couldn't you couldn't get me to agree anymore than then what I'm a retweet that here in a little bit so I don't think you're quitting your Twitter blows up later that's my fault. Stuff you know what do you think you do what are your three best leadership qualities about yourself a little bit that's a great job I definitely think that they well and things I do not so well on or very poorly I think the things that I think I think I'm a good communicator you know particularly verbally face-to-face I love having a one-on-one conversation our teachers or students with anybody real who's interested in talking about school it's it's just my past and about stuff in communication I think the importance of being proactive and communication letting teachers know what's what's going on at parents know what's going on with kids know what time I think there's an advantage to do it now. I think that's you know one of the things that God has blessed me with the ability between same thing and I know it sounds crazy but I just I really try to stay calm in and stable in all situations and so I just want to know if they're going to get you know if you come to me and you're screaming at me or if you come to me you crazy mean you're coming to me with a concern yeah I'm going to react the same way I just try to be calm and collected be very thoughtful about my response and kind of wait I try not to make need your reactions to people if you say something to me nothing just that ability to have a calming effect on whether to be a faculty or a classroom of kids without just just to be able to to deescalate a situation no matter what that is it could be a tense moment testing there could be a fight in a room and there could be a teacher this upset about something going on classroom inside of the classroom and so I think you know one of the things that I do bring the table just the ability Tacoma everything down and just a little slow down you know it's get to a solution and it's going to be okay I think those things are important to the best leadership qualities that I bring it on cuz I don't think I'm good at it but one of the most important things to me it's ridiculous I would not say which one of my best qualities and then Lauren one would agree with that you know she's probably so put on if something I'm constantly working on making like if you and I are talking face-to-face working on things like I contact and you know my body language and making sure you know that at that given moment yeah I might be thinking about the Cubs game later or yeah I know he thinking about playing golf right now thinking about it kids situation but at that moment I've got to make a scene and make you believe and make sure you understand that you're the most important person in the rain tell me I would not say that I'm great at it I would say it is definitely in development for me but I see it as important as a quality and that the body language thing is that spot on it's something that I I constantly have remind myself hey you know you if there's a way to present yourself and and when you are in those situations when you're listening you have to be able to you know that to whatever is going on it's important enough for that person to come talk to you then you got to find a way to make tie time to sit down and listen to that in and be responsive and and receptive in and sometimes when I think we it's a it's a struggle it's one of my struggles to I'm more of a talker you start talking to me I want to talk back to you I don't I don't know that I it's a it's a quality that that I I don't want to say black but it's a struggle it is absolutely absolutely is question what kind of wrap things up here thanks again so much for joining us this will be available on the website will talk about all that a little bit later what advice would you give him you know as you know I'm working on my Master's and doing some stuff what was vice would you give somebody who is starting that journey into leadership they've been a teacher that done some things there they're looking to expand the role maybe become an administrator of an assistant principal of Prince or something you what what advice would give someone beginning that Journey For the First Time well it is going to sound kind of cliche to say it but I think that if you wanted to step in the leadership you know the greatest the greatest form of is servant Leadership Academy you just the ability the ability to bloom where you're planted not seeking out leadership opportunities you know necessarily for the advance substituted for the paper purposes or no leaders just seem to rise to the top naturally we see that happened in our school system all the time you know I just think the ability to take advantage antique fully apply your god-given gifts and abilities and whatever position you're in I think that gives you an opportunity to move up because I just feel like people recognize that people recognize leadership people recognize to respect other people and so I think you know just giving 110% in whatever you're doing at the time you have enough I've had this conversation with some aspiring administrators out of our district over the last couple years and I think is the most important thing you can do to be a servant leader or whatever you're doing and if you're right now if your history teacher if your second grade teacher or you're a tennis coach baseball coach or so call Coach whatever it is whatever you're doing whatever you're doing do it for the right reasons and you can you treat that job in that position you know like it is an entire school system you know and invest in play some chips invest in a positive things about that team and I feel like that's what sets you apart and then going into that leadership role you know I just feel like it is so important it is so important to get down to get dirty I'd be willing to do the work I'm ask somebody to work you don't you know that you won't do yourself invest in positive relationships within your building you know and I think I think if you focus on relationship building with your stars and Empower your teachers to build relationships with kids you know there's really no way to have an unsuccessful building and so loaded Bloom where you're planted and what you get there from the positive things you need help me best in relationships that's that is wet very well said as as all of us have taken that point of a sea of the people that I couldn't you couldn't write a better description you know because it it because we I mean you know in this business if you're in for the money and and all those and accolades and all that stuff and you're in the wrong you're in the wrong business that's not what this is about but what said about being a servant leader that's what leadership is to me an education degree yeah it does everything I think every successful leader you can you can name no in our school system have any other school system they all have laws and characteristics mister mister Corey Lindbergh you have thank you so much for taking the time and being the the inaugural guest of the BCS podcast it's been great we got any cool things happening in the Coy Middle School here in the next few days what's going on fall off all Athletics I have all kicked off within the last couple of way to Philly. 5 athletic teams that are out there competing right now academically we're off to a great start you know her enrollment grade art teacher to work in Fast and Furious and play just out there supporting the kids yeah I mean if you know it's a blessing to go to work everyday I have some really looking forward to the Labor Day weekend there's nothing wrong with putting the kids to see the exhaustion on your face as a principle you know it makes me happy when kids are just when kids are energized but at the same time they are exhausted because that means hey we're pushing them to be better than they think they can be so I'm thrilled to see kids tired absolutely welcome thanks so much for for join us tonight you're welcome sorry I didn't mean to take an hour of your time but we just start it just when they buddy talk it's all good probably just happy I don't have to talk to her for a few minutes you giving her a little you giving her a little brat giving her a little bit of break alright that was Corey Lindbergh Gothic Way Middle School the the principal the new principal there he does I couldn't tell you what a great person he is and what a great job he is he just it's a tremendous to see the impact he had at Valley View and then fact that he that he has at and is having at a coin metal that's going to do it for tonight podcast we are going to do these every so often we will have a variety guess we'll do some technology talk definitely get into some some other areas is what will get into leadership in order to have doctor cash on it at some point this podcast which is an opportunity that kind of talk about
