welcome I'm dr. Heather Hayes and I'm the principal here at Waterville Community Elementary we are a Tennessee stem designate which means we teach about getting ready for your future career problem-solve and we learn those Workforce Development skills around 650 students pre-k through 5th grade AC DC classroom faculty staff our families and our students we are all a community here so join me as we go on a tour of Waterville Community Elementary we are here in the cafeteria at Waterville you have different grabbing those that you can choose from with blue things put yogurt always a hot meal for breakfast breakfast and for lunch positive behavior school that means that in teaching our Workforce Readiness skills bring those things they giving birth as a Cherokee Bill and Bill so you're learning as you go and getting ready for your future Welcome to our gym here at water bowl at Waterville students get to come to PE twice a week for 45 minutes to spend time with both of our PE teacher such as using her climbing wall we also have archery that they get to do the older students get to participate in and also all of our special are stem into their classrooms as well or example here in npt they can do things like weather having to figure out the best way to build their structure and how to get there from the structure down here we are at music in music class there are many many instruments that the students will get fifth graders and those students participate for the school and other groups in the library here in explore many different types of books where would increase their interest in reading and accelerated reading or they can earn points for the books and go on many different trips throughout the year and have fun while they're doing here at Waterville we teach with Sim and mine that means that had teachers are teaching students are learning about Job Readiness skills how to cooperate things that we know students need to get them ready for a future career all the water but we do things such as room Transformations were teachers completely transform their classroom into maybe a surgery room or have so many great fun things that get students engaged in the academic also we invite them professionals and talk about what they do what they have to do to prepare for those job hopefully the increase students interest in careers
